Hythe Club President Eddie Willis has been awarded the Kent County Amateur Swimming Association Edward G Maples trophy for services to Kent swimming.

Eddie has been a voluntary swimming teacher at Hythe, turning up several times a week, since the very early days of the Club and his specialist breaststroke clinic has seen many youngsters, with screw kicks, progress to be medallists at local and county competitions. In his role as a County Official, Eddie still regularly attends events offering his services for major Kent events, for local club championships at Hythe Aqua and assisting other Kent clubs.

Eddie over recent years has held the position of Club President at Hythe, a role he takes very seriously, where he is always available to present medals to teaching group swimmers or congratulate older winners on major achievements. As Club President Eddie is an active member of the Executive Committee at Hythe Aqua, always offering sound advice, supporting progress and offering help where required.
