Hythe Aqua Swimming Club Wins Prestigious Award
its army of volunteer teachers, coaches, officials and administrators to the community. The award was made by Councillor Peter Lake who is Chairman of Kent County Council and Kent Volunteers. Peter attended the Clubs Presentation evening recently and awarded the certificate in recognition of service to the community to Club Vice President Paul Burridge.

The Kent Volunteers Awards for Volunteering Excellence aim to seek out volunteers of all ages involved in the whole spectrum of activities and to recognise and thank them for the work they do across the county. The awards scheme is run with the support of Kent County Council and businesses and has grown to become an annual event. Thousands of nominations are received each year and Hythe Aqua Swimming Club is very proud of its new award.

Club Chairman Jim Parris congratulated the volunteers at Hythe who deliver over 15 hours of teaching and coaching each week across all the club disciplines. Additionally many hours are spent preparing for sessions, carrying out administrative tasks and attending training and development courses.
