HYTHE AQUA  LEARN TO SWIM SCHEME BENEFITS FROM VARIETY CLUB AWARD

The Variety Club is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people.  They do this by raising funds for specialist minibuses, wheelchairs, sports equipment, hospital wards, and all sorts of other practical solutions that enable individuals, projects and organisations across the UK to give a wider range of opportunities to children and young people.

The Variety Club work to raise money to support children and young people in local communities. This can be through individual appeals for support from local families, to supporting local schools, hospitals, youth centres or other children or young people's establishments.

Hythe Aqua has benefited from this fundraising and as a voluntary organisation has been successful in gaining a grant to support its Clubmark/Swim21  accredited learn to swim programme for purchasing new training equipment to support the programme and allow wider participation.

A Trustee of the Variety Club Mr Godfrey Linnett TD DL visited the club with Emily Smith from Kent Youth  and presented a grant cheque to the club for £560.  The cheque was received on behalf of the Club by Junior Girls Swimming Captain Jess Saunders.
