Four swimmers from Hythe Aqua were selected for the Kent Masters Team that competed in the recent Inter Counties Masters Team Swimming Championship held at the Garrison Pool Aldershot. This is generally regarded as the final event of the competitive season for Masters Swimming and as well as sprint individual events, the gala features many combinations of both medley and freestyle relays.

Four swimmers from Hythe Aqua were selected to swim for Kent; Donna Wickens, Maureen Fakely, Inguna Reinhards and David Staveley, with Inguna & David both achieving top ten placings. It was a busy afternoon for all the Kent swimmers and Kent eventually finished 14th out of the 29 English Counties competing, with Cheshire taking first place . This was an excellent  good all round performance from the Kent team considering that the big city teams had many more swimmers to call upon.
