Hythe Swimmers Attempt World Record!
Organisers of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the North Downs Way recently ignored
the age-old advice to never work with children or animals.
They combined both by putting snails on children’s faces!
Hythe Aqua squad swimmers volunteered to have snails placed on their faces in an attempt
to break a Guinness World Record. The record stands at 25 and the greatest snail count at
the event was 20.
Tony Gowers, North Downs Way national trail officer said: “We had so many youngsters who
wanted to have a go that the snails wouldn’t settle.”
