Speedo League Round 2 Report 2008

ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE AND A WIN
It was another exciting night and a real nail biter, we lead from the 3rd event right the way to through to the finish. This was a great team performance not just from the swimmers but from all of the Coaches, Helpers and all of who are involved with HYTHE AQUA.

The gala was very close throughout the night with only a few points in it between us and Dorking, at the end we won the gala by just 8 points which is a little bit too close for comfort but it was a GREAT win.

As a team we had 15 race wins backed up with 10 second places and 12 third places, which was great to see, we are getting more consistent with our performances and that is showing in the overall results with 2nd in the 1st Speedo and now 1st in this Speedo.

We even had one of the open swimmers (no names mentioned Gill!!) but the individual broke a 20 year old breaststroke PB. There were a number of great individual performances and especially those swimmers who had to swim up an age due to illness. In the relays we won 6 races alone which shows we are getting strength within the ages which is very encouraging to see as Team Manager.

Keep up the hard work swimmers and keep the 13th December free for the final Round which will be a swim off for the top 8 clubs where we are lying 4th overall. So keep up the hard training for another four weeks and remember practise your turns, starts and FINISHING HARD.

Well done team a special mention to Jim Burch, Tim Wiseman, Kim Walker for helping on the night and all other coaches and helpers for all their hard work.
