We had a fantastic start to out Kent Junior League season finishing the first gala a close third losing second on the last race by 2pts. It turns out we had been second for most of the gala so next time that’s what we are aiming for.
It was obvious swimmers have been practising their starts and turns in training as we had only one disqualification the whole night and those swimmers moving up to 100m races showed that they had the stamina and speed to be up there with the leaders. The team spirit throughout was excellent with lots of cheering and support from everyone
Fola Ogunsola ( see left ) was the star of the evening winning his 11yrs 50m Free in a superb time of 32.75 and his 50m Fly. He also bravely swam up an age group to the 100m Fly only three races after his other fly where he came a creditable 5th. Zara Brazier was our other winner storming to victory in the 13yrs 100m Back. |

However it was the number of 2nd and 3rd places we got that was so impressive for us. It was this consistency in the middle that helped us to do so well. 2nd places went to the following swimmers: |

This added to 19PBs meant it was a very successful evening for Hythe Aqua so well done to all swimmers. Special mention must go to Jamie Porter and John West who stood in at short notice and swam really well. This was John’s first ever gala for Hythe Aqua and he should be proud of his performance.
