KENT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009

Grace Walker takes 4th in the 10 years 100m IM and storms a 9 second PB
 

A strong team of Hythe swimmers qualified for the first weekend of the Kent Championships 2009, held over the weekend of the 14th and 15th February at Black Lion Pool.  Many swimmers swum new PB’s which was an excellent effort at this level of competition and several swimmers achieved final placings scoring points for Hythe in the team competition.

Best performance of the day was Grace Walker who achieved 4th place in the 100m IM with a fantastic 9 second PB.

Alasdair Seamer swum to 5th place in the 17/18yrs 50m Breaststroke

Fola Ogunsola achieved 5th place in the 11yrs 50m Freestyle in new PB of 31.29.

Fola also swam a PB in the 11yrs 100m IM of 1.24.52

Robyn Wakelin achieved 5th place in the 17/18yrs  200m Backstroke  and was 8th in the 50m Backstroke

Tommy Evans was 8th in the 10yrs 50m Breaststroke in a new PB of 46.07 and took 11th place in the 100m IM swimming a 3 second PB of 1.30.98

Daniel Burch swam to 10th place in the 13yrs 100m Backstroke swimming a 3 second PB of 1.15.82

Club Captain Jenny Newman achieved 7th place in the 17/18yrs 100m Butterfly

Josh Hill swam to 11th place in the 15yrs 50m Breaststroke in a PB of 35.87

Zara Brazier achieved 16th place in the 13yrs 100m Backstroke

Charlie Smissen swum to 20th place in the 50m Free in a new personal best of 30.08.

These were excellent results against the best swimmers  from across the whole of Kent.  When you represent Hythe Aqua at a  county competition you get to wear a silver club hat. If you have not received your hat speak to Jim Parris. County squad polo shirts are being ordered.
