Greg Wood a member of the successful Hythe Masters Swimming Team is training for a channel swim during September.

Between the dates of the 5th to 17th of September 2008 Greg will be swimming from England to France. Greg has thought about doing this for a long time and he feels that now is the best time to go for it.  Greg has been in proper training since September 2007 (through rain, sleet and snow) swimming at least every Sunday morning at 7.30am in the sea. He has also been swimming at Hythe Masters and  training in Ashford. In the next few weeks he plans to step up the frequency and in June  will be swimming 7 hour sessions every Sunday!!  He can’t wait!!

Greg is funding the swim himself and feels that it is a good opportunity to raise some money for charity. He is going to be raising money for ‘Demelza House’ Children's Hospice near Sittingbourne.

Opening its doors to the first children in 1998 Demelza is an organisation providing hospice care for over 450 children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Kent, East Sussex and South London.
